In this article, a comprehensive review of the WPT systems for electric battery charging focusing on inductive power transfer is presented. The basic WPT principles of electric battery charging is investigated.
The underlying method for such a power transfer is inductive power transfer (IPT), one of the fundamental techniques of WPT. However, there is no single "best" method for WPT—it largely depends on the specific requirements of the application. Each method has its merits and limitations and is suited for particular scenarios.
Wireless power transfer (WPT) is a promising technology that has the potential to revolutionize the present methods of power transmission. This paper aims to provide an overview of WPT, including its history, a comparative review of methods, and a review of recent papers about WPT.
The implemented inductive power transfer system encompasses several key components, such as the design of transmitting and receiving coils, a WPT charger, a charging circuit, an energy storage system, and measuring devices to monitor the SOC of the lithium-ion battery.
