There are no standards defining performance tests of electrical energy storage (EES) system for complex application scenarios that require both photovoltaic (PV) smoothing and electric vehicle (EV) load regulation.
This recommended practice focuses on the performance test of the electrical energy storage (EES) system in the application scenario of PV-storage-charging stations with voltage levels of 10 kV and below. The paper analyzes the development and shortcomings of the existing echelon utilization power battery standards system and proposes suggestions on the standards that urgently need to be improved, such as the electrical performance, safety performance, sorting and reorganization, and re-decommissioning of the echelon utilization power battery.
General technical requirements of the test, the duty cycle development, and characteristics are given. Based on these, detailed test protocol based on duty cycle, such as stored energy, roundtrip efficiency, step response time, ramp rate, and duty cycle roundtrip efficiency, etc. are provided.
GB/Z 18333.1–2001 stipulates charging until a certain battery voltage reaches 5 V, QC/T 744–2006 stipulates that the cell and module shall be charged with constant current for 3 h, and other standards are charging to a certain multiple of the charging termination voltage.
