Distributed energy storage is also a means of providing grid or network services which can provide an additional economic benefit from the storage device. Electrical energy storage is shown to be a complementary technology to CHP systems and may also be considered in conjunction with, or as an alternative to, thermal energy storage.
When the confidence level drops to 0.65, the system's total cost only slightly increases by 2.96 %. In summary, this study introduces shared energy storage systems and demand response, effectively smoothing the load curve and improving system economics and renewable energy integration rates.
RES can be successful in suppressing the ripple effects of RES, especially in the case of distributed PV and wind systems connected to distribution grids. Distributed energy storage method plays a major role in preventing power fluctuation and power quality problems caused by these systems in the grid.
In summary, this study introduces shared energy storage systems and demand response, effectively smoothing the load curve and improving system economics and renewable energy integration rates. When considering uncertainty in demand response, the electric energy rotational reserve constraint enhances the system's reliability but increases costs.
Methodology/results: We employ a stylized model that captures essential features of an energy distribution system, including convex costs, stochastic demand, storage efficiency, and line losses. Using dynamic programming, we optimize storage operations and derive value function properties that are key to analyzing the storage investment decisions.
Combined with Fig. 4, it can be observed that the output of the shared energy storage system is low during two time periods. One is during the off-peak electricity and natural gas price period from 00:00 to 10:00, during which the multi-park integrated energy system mainly relies on external electricity and gas purchases.
