Scope of this law is to cover all activities on fire prevention and firefighting in Kingdom of Cambodia. Fire: refers to case where there is an uncontrolled fire causes disaster on life, property, and environment. Fire prevention: refers to the practice of conditions and measures to ensure safety and not allow the fire to occur.
This new Code has been developed by the General Commissariat of the National Police and the National Quality Inspection Center for Fire Safety Systems of the Kingdom of Cambodia. It entered into force on 12 August 2019 and comprises 13 chapters along with 7 appendices.
The two centres, which are to be managed by the General Commissariat of the National Police and operated by the Cambodian Fairwind Enterprises Co Ltd, have been created with the aim of improving fire prevention in the country at a time of booming construction.
The new code entered into force on 12 August and introduced to the public at the 09 September seminar organised by the Association of Fire Prevention Enterprises of Cambodia (AFPE) and the National Quality Inspection Centre for Fire Safety Systems (NICS).
All target destination and all media need to have dissemination program to raise awareness and prevention and fire fighting measures. Cooperation to help extinguish fire and/or request for fire fighting support from other countries and internal organizations is the competence of Royal Government of Cambodia through Ministry of Interior.
